Sound Barrier Wall Power Plant Expansion

ArtUSA was contacted in reference to a Sound Barrier Wall Project that would be on a roadway at a Georgia Power Project. GDOT and Georgia Power wanted a Sound Barrier Wall System that was effective, easy to install and aesthetically pleasing for the residential neighbors close to the project. With more demand then ever on energy, Georgia Power had to expand one of its plants in North Georgia to accommodate the endless need for today’s growing energy consumption. ArtUSA Noise Control Products offers several types of Sound Barrier Walls and after a site evaluation decided upon a Light Weight Composite Sound Wall System. With its strength and durability combined with architectural appeal it proved to be a winning combination for everyone. The Art-Composite Sound Barrier Wall System is designed in accordance with all Federal Highway Administration specification and qualifies  as a GREEN LEAD product. The materials are 90 percent recycled and have a lifespan that is measured in decades rather then years and has a standard 30 years manufactures warranty. The ArtUSA Noise Control Products Composite Sound Barrier Wall System was installed in November of 2010. Georgia Power is commended as being a good neighbor that goes the extra mile to ensure there is no environmental impact on the surrounding residential community. The ArtUSA Sound Barrier Wall is now being utilized on many Georgia Highway Sound Wall Projects and is accredited as the leader for a new Era in Sound Barrier Wall Technology.

Emergency Power without Noise

ArtUSA Noise Control Products Inc was contacted by Power Secure to design and install a Sound Barrier Wall for a Georgia Power Project at Columbus Water Works located in Columbus GA.  Power Secure did the design and manufacture of the switch gear and back up generator for Georgia Power for their project. Columbus Water plant is locater near a residential neighborhood and sound was a concern for Georgia Power if the generator was needed in an emergency power outage. Being a good neighbor, Georgia Power asked Power Secure to have a noise survey completed before the project could be awarded. Power Secure contacted ArtUSA Noise Control Products to have the Noise Survey completed with a plan to mitigate the unwanted noise of the generator to the surrounding neighbors. ArtUSA Noise Control Products Completed the Noise Survey and Design of a Light Weight Sound Barrier Wall System that would mitigate the generator noise and be astheticaly pleasing to the surrounding neighborhood. Columbus Water Works, Georgia Power and Power Secure were very impressed by the Art-Composite Sound Barrier that Tim White of ArtUSA Designed. The wall not only mitigated the noise is considered green due to the materials being ninety percent recycled. To make this even better a pending snow and ice storm in and around Columbus Georgia was predicted the week the project was being completed. The wall now stands to protect Columbus Water Works neighbors and blends into the rest of the landscape. The neighbors will now have water in case of any power outage and not know that it is being supplied by a generator due to the wall Designed and Installed by ArtUSA Noise Control Products. Georgia Power along with Columbus Water Works are now credited as being Good Neighbors...
